Grove at Cottonwood Ground Breaking
Breaking ground on a brighter future! ✨
This Summer, of Broomfield CEO Gina Coufal joined Kristin Hyser, Executive Director of the Broomfield Housing Alliance, to celebrate the groundbreaking for The Grove at Cottonwood—an innovative, affordable housing community designed with accessibility, inclusion, and dignity in mind. 🏡💙💚
Of the 40 permanently affordable homes, at least 10 will be set aside for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To prepare our Friends and families for this exciting next step, FRIENDS is hosting our Independent Living Academy bi-weekly, helping participants fine-tune the life skills they’ll need to live as independently as possible.
The Broomfield Housing Alliance (BHA), in partnership with BlueLine Development, recently broke ground on The Grove at Cottonwood, a neuro-inclusive housing development in Broomfield.
Constructed by Denevue Construction and designed by Caddis Collaborative, The Grove at Cottonwood will offer 40 high-quality, permanently affordable rental homes tailored to meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) earning up to 60% of the area median income. Thoughtfully planned with trauma-informed and universal design principles, The Grove will feature a resident concierge, robust community amenities, and spaces that foster connection, safety, and independence. This innovative community marks a significant step toward inclusive, service-enriched housing for some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
The Grove at Cottonwood has received a 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) award, providing crucial funding for the development.
The project is scheduled to start pre-leasing in mid-2026. This is more than housing—it’s a community where residents are valued, empowered, and supported to thrive. Follow along over the next year to see it come to life!
We are so excited for this next chapter in Broomfield History!
